Another memorable trip with mak

Cameron Highland (C.H) is always my favourite destination. Our latest trip to C.H was extra special with mak joined us for the trip. Mak was chaperoned by her cucu Nadia. We spent our weekend at Maybank bangalow in Tanah Rata. We had our lunch as soon as we arrived the bangalow and later had a round of golf there. When we arrived back at the bangalow, everybody was having various activities. It was great fun to watch Cipa play badminton... what a performance by Cipa... even the adults cannot keep up with her stamina and skill........ Mak looked very happy eventhough she needed our help to get out of the car and to walk around. We had lovely and fatty BBQ on Saturday nite with plenty of colestrol intake. Later Mak and Nadia joined us for BBQ at the dining table. I helped mak peeling the BBQ prawns. By the way, Mak had to use folk and spoon to eat. Her right hand and fingers are stiff all the time despite undergoing carpal tunnel operation early this year.

Sunday morning, we visited Raju's strawberry farm. Oun had been mentioning this Raju thingy many times as he kept on calling any indian guys that we met as Raju. We had strawberry icecream and plenty of strawberries. Later we went shopping at the market. Mak bought jagung, vegetables and sweet potatoes. She managed to do her shopping despite her knee condition that I can see was unbearable at times.

We visited Ladang Teh Boh. With the help of Jaga kereta, our car was allowed to proceed up to the visiting area.Others had to walk uphill to reach the building. While walking with mak around the tea factory, mak reminised that she visited the place in the 40s with tam mak zin. Asked mak whether arwah tam was a "man" or 'lady" and she replied "man".... (this is another story to tell!) Tam was mak best friend from her younger years until "her" demised few years ago. She is best remembered as the best cook in my kampong for kenduri masjid or kawin.... Anyway, back in the 40s, mak took a teksi from Tapah and surely we can imagine the long winding journey to reach the peak of Cameron Highland, not to mention the condition of the car, road at that time.
