Relativity Theory

Coming back from sending Abang Ngah to his hostel last Saturday, I just realised that next year , Kak Long will be Form 5, Abang Ngah in Form 3, Oun in Standard 6 respectively. Heemmm .... so fast, Kak Long has been in STF for more 3 years. Time do really fly....

However, the other day as soon I woke up I just realised that my youngest kid, Cipa is only in Standard 2....and she will only be 17 years old when I reach my age of 53...Can i really make it to that far? God knows....

HM & Profession

The other Saturday morning, I saw this expensive car (at least for me anyway ..!!) in front of my house. Only to find out later that the car belongs to my HM's tukang urut. I told my wife, "you are in the wrong profession darling....."

Our Unusual Vacation

At first it was a bit weird to have the idea of spending our family holiday in KL but we gave it a try anyway. It turned out to be one of the most memorable holidays. We checked in at of of the hotel not very far from the KLCC.

In the evening we took the kids to the KLCC park, only that we released this was the first time we brought the kids there, including Wawa being the eldest at 16 years old.. Next, the trip to the KL tower to have our quiet high tea and to observe KL skyline. Night time all of us glued to the tv watching Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah,. We really had a good time watching the movie, especially the “telo Perak” being uttered through out the movie.

Cerita Orang Kampung & Pokok Getah

Dapat tau sekarang harga getah sampai Rm13 sekilo. Kalau si penoreh getah selalu dapat menoreh 50 kilo sehari, pendapatannya memang le lumayan, RM650 sehari. Kalau sebulan dapat menoreh 10 hari, kalah gaji orang di kota. Dengarnya ramai orang orang kota yang pulang ke kampung menoreh getah. Syukurlah buat penoreh penoreh getah dengan pendapatan lumayan ini.

Diceritakan juga ada yang kebun getah ditoreh dua kali sehari. Sebelah pagi ditoreh tuan tanah dan sebelah petang ditoreh penyangak penyangak.. Kesian pokok pokok getah tu. Macam macam bila harga dah naik. Jangan lepas ni keluar pulak cerita orang kampung nak menambah cawangan sudah......

January 2011

The first month of the year is ending very soon.... What have I established so far? Earlier I promised myself to write regularly.... Hemmmm. There have been good news and bad news. Mak is recovering from her knee surgery very well, while her "castle" is being renovated. Along Hani & Nadia are getting engaged very soon. The kids have been busy with their school activities & music classes. Such a relief seeing Cipa waking up every morning happily getting ready to school...The bad news Anjang is diagnosed of having bone cancer, just after recovery from her breast cancer...Praying hard that she will be as strong as before for the next round of hardship...And my bad back ...ahhhh...really hope to recover as soon as possible.


Career development wise, so far so good (at company level that is!) just being awarded 2 long term contracts. Personally, trying very hard to improve the company's cashflow so that I can have good sleep every nite....

Insyaaallah my wish to go to Mekah with mak this year will be fulfilled....

Theory of Marketing & Lemang Mak

Raya tanpa lemang mak memang rasa tak sempurna.....Tapi tahun ni kita beraya korban di Kajang buat pertama kali. Selepas sembahyang sunat Aidil Adha tergerak hati nak beli sebatang lemang yang banyak dijual sepanjang jalan besar... tapi takut tak sedap pulak.... Nak beli tak... nak beli tak... Penyudahnya berenti kereta beli sebatang. Sampai rumah terus belah lemang ciciah dengan kuah kacang...boleh le tak le mengecewakan....

Dalam pukul 10 pagi tumpang jiran ke surau semula nak tengok jemaah surau menjalankan ibadah korban 7 ekor lembu... Meriah & ramai yang datang termasuk le kita yang dikategorikan sebagai nasi tambah aje...tak tolong pun....

Bila dah penat, kita telepon orang rumah mintak ambik kita awal, sms kat jiran kita balik dulu ada tetamu datang....Sambil menunggu orang rumah yang tak sampai sampai, kita dok perhati penjual penjual lemang kat tepi jalan besar tu. Ada yang lemang masih banyak dan ada yang yang dah tinggal 4 batang...Hasil kajian yang singkat di situ dapat le di buat rumusan, kena ada optimum jumlah batang lemang baru laris lemang dijual. Kalau lemang tinggal 4 batang, kereta tak singgah, mungkin atas dasar tak banyak pilihan , dan kalau lemang terlalu banyak orang tak singgah jugak mungkin membuat andaian lemangnya banyak sebab tak laku aka tak sedap le....Jadinya berapa jumlah optimum lemang kena ada dipamerkan yang membolehkan kereta berhenti & membeli???? Kena buat kajian lanjut le.... Jadi pada penjual lemang yang dah tinggal sikit tu kena sediakan "lemang dummies" bagi membolehkan sampai tahap optimum......


Anyway, we rated the lemang that we bought earlier about 5/10, really average... We finally got to taste lemang Mak 2 days later with special delivery from kampung. Preparation of Lemang Mak is a tedious task. The pulut is mixed with the santan and cooked over slow fire. The ratio is like 1 gantang of pulut to 12 biji kelapa kampung if I remember correctly. Once the santan is thicken enough the mixture is transferred into the buluh. The advantage of this method would avoid the pulut and santan from "muak" i.e overflowing while on fire and the same tasty lemang is evenly spread from one end to the other.

My final hope is that we will continue cherishing Lemang Mak in many many years to come....
