Pelaburan Jangka Panjang Mak

Semalam pergi ke Gopeng dan singgah kat Sungkai ambik bebuah. Pergi kat kebun dekat dengan sekolah Agama kutip buah puleah (pulasan). Masa masuk pagar, nampak Surau sebelah Agama Rakyat dah siap. Sempat ambik gambo surau, luar dan dalam, gambo Tadika Kemas dan gambo sekolah Agama rakyat. Bangunan bangunan didirikan di atas tanah pusaka arwah Apak yang mak wakafkan. Tadika Kemas dan Sekolah Agama dah lama beroperasi untuk kemudahan murid murid kampoung sekeliling dan surau baru ni sebagai kemudahan terbaru untuk Sekolah Agama tu.

Bila sampai Gopeng, tunjukkan gambo gambo surau baru tu kat Mak.... Kalau tak tunjuk kat dia gambo gambo tu, dia bukannya lalu pun nak pergi tengok sendiri. Mak senyum panjang.. seronok le tu tengok pelaburan akhiratnya makin bertambah...........

I have been Accused & A Confession to Make

I have been accused of being a slow driver....!!! How dare these people to coming up with this silly remark.... I know who you are guys..... Just because they regularly overtake my car in the morning when I drive with my HM to work does not qualify me as a "slow driver". Actually, I wouldn't call it "slow driver" but rather a law abiding citizen.

Retrospectively speaking, the remark is not entirely true. I have been fined by the police traffic many times for speeding. It all started when I asked Ridza the location of the Pug showroom where he had bought his glittering silver Pug 308 turbo. We decided to go together to the showroom and test drive the car. Later, Yus was interested to join in. I was quite impressed with the car after a quick spin within Bangsar area and immediately paid the deposit for the car. The colour chose was babylon red (whatever that means..!!!. ).

The news started to spread quietly behind my back that Shaiful is booking a red sporty Pug 308 turbo.... They even accused me of having a mid life crisis.... I received a number of sms asking the delivery date of the Pug 308 . I replied I knew nothing about it....

The the first thousand km, I must admit that the meter never went more than 120km/hour. Last weekend, when Saleh and I drove the car to JB for a golf tournament (what a successful outing that was...) Both of us won prizes, Saleh got a PSP and a Titliest golf bag for me. I drove the car at my usual speed and later and on the way back I asked Saleh to take over as I was sleepy. He later confessed to me that while I was sleeping the speedo meter touched 170++++km/hour many times. Ini sudah lawan touke.....

The next day, when I drove the car to and from Gopeng alone, that law abiding citizen was long dead..... guys!!!! On the way back from Sungkai , the car was full of fruits that I later distributed to the accusers...........

My HM and Her Wedding Anniversary

Wished her Happy Anniversary this morning. She was quiet for a long time! haa...haaa kantoi..... Forgot the date again..... Anyway , I also had to backtrack to determine the actual xxth of the Anniversary. The formula is 109 - 94 = 15th. Correct i think..... Wished I could have got something from her.......Maybe later.....
15 years... it has been a long journey. The end results, 4 boisterous kids.....and a lot of hutang........To my HM, thanks for being an understanding wife with high degree of tolerance to my nuisance at times....

Gloomy Abang Ngah on His Birthday

The gloomy weather for the last few days had infected Abang Ngah on his 12th. birthday yesterday. It is our common knowledge and a rare occasion to see him smile or talkative in the morning. But for him to be very moody and quiet on his birthday celebration was very unexpected. My wife said Abang Ngah did not feel well and had fever when he arrived home from school yesterday. Anyway, we bought him a cake with 3 candles and as soon as we finished singing his birthday song, he blew the candles halfheartedly. But he quietly thanked me for the new wristwatch that I presented him. Happy birthday Abang Ngah...!!!

Impian Indah Annual Kenduri

Who says it is better to stay at home when the weather is bad? On the contrary, members of Impian Indah spent last rainy Friday nite and rainy Saturday afternoon for the annual kenduri at our taman. The preparation for the kenduri had started many many days in advance with the endless meetings and free flow of drinks from our favourate mamak hotspot. Various AJKs were set up (AJK minuman, AJK BBQ, AJK khemah, etc , of AJK kayu api for the lemang! to name a few). Instructions were given by our persistent President to get things going. The activities on the Friday nite were with masak lemang , ketupat and sup tulang led by other than none, Tuan Ridza, .

Due to the bad weather, getting the fire started was not an easy task. Pity the tudung periok that was used to fan the fire. At the same time the pulut was being filled into the buluh lemang after a quick demo by our Tuan Ridza. In the meantime, AJK minuman got the kopi tongkat ali ready for eveybody. It was a fatal combination when you had wet weather , hot kopi and rebus ubi panas with sambal tumis!!!!.

A BBQ set was brought in which required some improvisation to replace the old and rusty zink. A good round trip to a rumah kongsi nearby was fruitful enough. A piece of zink was available, allegedly taken from the rumah kongsi roof!!

As usual, while waiting for the lemang, sup tulang, rendang daging and ketupat on fire, different group of members started their own "discussion". The topics can be silly, sexy, sporty, any thing under the sky..... until 3 am. After endless dirty jokes the lemang was finally tested, passed and confirmed ready by the "experienced lemang experts" . It took 2 lemangs to get the uninomous approval though !! In fact there was an opinion for a 3rd lemang but was overruled. The next day the drizzle continued but did not hamper (different from hamper sold by our Tuan President's HM.....) the warga Indah to get the majlis get going. Tables and chairs were arranged, fire for the BBQ was started, foods and drinks being served. The eating session started as soon warga Indah converging to the tents. At the same time, the karaoke session was performed by the "penyanyi penyanyi wajib" . The monthly security collection and statistics were tabled as well as the proposal to make the Impian Indah to be a gated community. Basically, the relevant AJKs managed to get the infomation across during this kenduri.

Finally, this year kenduri was wet, fruitful and full of fun. Syabas to all the AJKs and warga Indah...Hopefully, we would be able to continue this tradition for many many years ahead. However, lessons learned from this majlis:-

1. Kayu api to be kept high & dry in order to safe a tudung periok.

2. Do not mix up between kuah kacang for nasi impit and rojak!!!! The Chef will be upset!!

3. Cut the nasi impit and ketupat with sharp knifes not plastic ones, otherwise the cuts look "berbulu" and awful!!! Again, the Chef will be upset!!

4. BBQ kambing to be served a bit later, after other foods being consumed, otherwise you will hear a lot of complaints that some do not get enough cholesterol from the lambs.

5. A qualified QS must make a calculation for the number of buluh lemangs required given the quantity of pulut to be used. The same applies to kupang. No wastage please...

6. to get a written quotation for buluh lemang beforehand so that the "tak halal" issue can be avoided ....
