Queenstown

Day 2 at Queenstown. It is a scenic town and popular for adrenaline seeking junkies. I believe the town survives on tourism. It offers a lot of outdoor sport activities, bungy jumping, sky gliding, white water rafting, etc. After our hearty breakfast we headed to the skyline gondola up to the hill. All of us including Cipa tried the ”luge”. We had our lunch before be headed down to Queenstown downtown. One good thing about the tourist attraction here is the food. No matter how remote and exclusive the place is, I find the food price is reasonable. It was fun and another sunny day.

Had some shopping in the afternoon. The camp that we stayed was excellent with a small creek next to our campervan. Big fish swimming leisurely.

Met a malay lady, from Kuala Kangsar working at the supermarket while we shopped for our groceries. Managed to get halal beef patties from her.

Cerita Mount Cook

We stayed at Glentanner Caravan Park, Mount Cook. The next day we continued our trip to the Sir Hillary Alpine Centre followed by our excursion to the Blue Lake Glasier. The weather was good. Supposed to leave at 1.50pm by bus to the lake but had to wait for the late commers and I bet with my HM that they were most probably Asians. Yup... I won my bet... luckily they were not Malaysians.

This place is totally awesome with turquise colour lake, snow capped mountains and glorious sunshine.. The kids enjoyed the boat ride and had a chance to taste the 300 year old ice, from the melting iceberg. Were informed that the glasier advances about 80 meters but recedes about 300 meters yearly.

Saw this toilet while on the way to the lake. Must be the toilet with one of the most beautiful view in the world....

Selamat Hari Raya Haji

Fox Glasier & Lake Matheson

Our day 3 on South Island. Fox Glasier is on the west coast of South Island. We had a jungle trackking along Lake Matheson in the morning. The lake is also known as "The mirror lake" for the obvious reason.

The next stop was the Glasier. Had to walk for 20 min to reach the tail end of the glasier. The weather was windy and cloudy.
